Recovery Rings The Overland Vehicle Systems Recovery Ring is designed to make recovery safer, faster and more reliable. Its unique design is manufactured out of T6 6061 Aircraft Grade aluminum which won’t rust or corrode. This simple recovery tool used in conjunction with a soft shackle replaces the traditional snatch blocks and operates at a much higher working load which makes recovery safer and easier. This unique system is safer than the outdated snatch blocks because it doesn’t store kinetic energy like traditional rigging which could be catastrophic if a failure occurs Soft Shackles All OVS soft shackles feature Dyneema, a low-friction fiber, so braided synthetic line will run easily through soft shackles, meaning you can often get away without using a traditional snatch block application where standard recovery isn't enough. Dyneema rope is so strong that an equivalent wire rope would be three times as thick, and a top-quality stainless steel shackle with a 3/4in pin would have less than half the breaking strength. Our soft shackle can handle just about every function performed by a metal shackle, in many cases better. Soft shackles articulate better, don't rattle around when not under load, beat up bumpers, easier to undo, and don't have pins that fall out in the middle of a trail.
